William Levernier
Professor of Economics

 

 
 

William Levernier has taught at Georgia Southern since 1989.  He earned his Ph.D. in economics from West Virginia University in 1988, his M.A. in economics from the University of Tennessee in 1981, and his BBA in economics from Gonzaga University in 1978.

Professor Levernier's research focuses on poverty, income inequality, sports economics, and sabermetrics.   His research has been published in  Academy of Information and Management Sciences JournalAtlantic Economic JournalContemporary Economic PolicyEastern Economic JournalJournal of Quantitative Analysis in SportsJournal of Regional ScienceJournal of Urban EconomicsPublic ChoiceThe Quarterly Review of Economics and FinanceThe Review of Regional StudiesSocial Science QuarterlySouthern Economic Journal, and Urban Studies.   He serves on the Editorial Board of International Journal of Information and Operations Management Education and The Review of Regional Studies, and previously served on the Editorial Board of The Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice.  Professor Levernier is a member of the Southern Economic Association and the Southern Regional Science Association.
