Matthew McLendon's Web Portfolio
Introduction to Portfolio
This portfolio shows off a series of projects
created for my English 1101 college course. These were done throughout
the duration of the course and display much of what I learned during
it. The first project was a group project made during the beginning of
the semester and is a powerpoint that compares the three major
operating systems on the market today: Windows, Linux, and Mac. Our
purpose in the powerpoint was to show why Windows is the best operating
system currently available and why the other two don't match up. The
second project is a research paper done in Microsoft Word. This and the
next project were done individually and were both on the same topic:
Which is superior, the Xbox 360 or the Playstation 3? Being a research
paper I had to gather sources to write the paper with rather than just
write it from my own experience which made it more of a pain to write,
but I guess it has more authority than it would of had otherwise. Not
to mention that the experience will probably do me some good since I'm
probably going to be writing more of these in the future. The third
project is a web page created using the information in the research
paper from the second project. This was my first time creating a web
page so I had to learn from scratch, but it ended up being easier than
I thought it would be. I just had to revise my paper, add in some
relevant images, and upload it to this website and it was done.
