English 1101 Portfolio

In English 1101,  I worked on three projects through out the semester. This portfolio will prove to my professor, Dr.
Walker, that I have in fact learned something in her course and that I do deserve an A in the class.

I will show all three of my assigments and give a brief explanation of each, they will be presented in the order they were made in to show that I improved a little more with each passing assignment. I also hope to prove that, as I completed each project and began a new one, that my knowledge of technology and what it means to me broadened and the methods that I used to present my argument improved.

The first assignment I worked on dealt with what technology means to us. We had to use predominately pictures in our visual aids with minimal words. I decided to create a posterboard with pictures depicting what I considered technology, I also lined the pictures up in columns with the more obvious forms on the left and the less obvious on the right.

For the second assignment we wrote essays on an argument about technology. I wrote my argumentive paper on ways that less developed countries can be educated on birth control in order to slow the rapidly increasing population problems in these underdeveloped countries. I talked about ways, not only women, but men as well can take part in different birth control practices.

The final assignment (prior to this) dealt with composing a webpage to advocate in a cause that we believed in. Since my sororities philanthropy is Children's Miracle Network, I made a website that gave examples of ways students at Georgia Southern University could take part in volunteering or donating to the charity right here on campus.
