Georgia Performance Standards: GPS
There are performance standards for every grade levels K-12. These standards incorporate the content standard, which simply told the teacher what a student was expected to know, but expands upon it by providing three additional items: suggested tasks, sample student work, and teacher commentary on that work. These standards have proved to be very helpful to teachers and their students.
National Educational Technology Standards: NETS
The National Educational Technology Standards are designed to help children learn how to use technology effectively and to their own advantage. NETS states that within an effective educational setting technology can enable students to become better problem solvers and creative users of productivity tools. Technology with also help children develop many other important characteristics that will help them become successful in life.
