This
web portfolio is an acumulation of all of the works I have done over
the course of this semester. Over the course of the semester we have
had a variety of assignments using different types of technology.
We studied the different ways to execute our assignments, and what form
of technology works best. We learned to format and structure our
projects to what our topics were. Along with learning how to structure
our projects we also learned how to write, and learned about our own
personal writing process and improve on it. We wrote, gave oral
presentations, used power point, created a web page, and to top it all
off a portfolio. This portfolio contains all of the assignments
my ENGL 1101 YYY class required. These assignments include: an
oral presentation on a type of technology, an argumentative paper, and
a web page which is an extension of the paper we wrote. Over the course
of this semester I have learned much about writing styles and and how
to improve on my own. A way I have learned about my own writing
style is, for example, when we had a writting assignment I tried to
break away from the traditional five paragraph paper, and Dr. Walker
really helped me understand that papers need to have more of the
writers ideas and words and less quotes. Before I would dress my papers
in quotes, it was a challenge to stray away from my old habits and
learn new ones. I feel like I did well with the the arguable
paper. The assignment I had difficulty with was the web page.
This was the first time I have ever work on something other than a Word
document. Also learning how to post things on the Internet was a
huge challenge. Luckily Dr. Walker was able to assist me with
doing
so. Thanks to Dr. Walker I was able to successfully finish my
assignment and post it online. I wish I would have put more time
into the web page assignment to get a better understanding of how
to work with Composer. I also wish that I would have practiced
speaking before my group and I presented our oral presentation. I
wish I would have practiced because I tand to not pace myself when I
speak and that would have been a big help if I had practiced. Overall I
do believe I have done a good job with each assignment. I have
never missed a day of class, and have put as much effort into this
class as possible, and im doing so I feel like I deserve a good grade
which reflects that of my work.
