Immigration forum and the screening of “Fighting SB529” 7:00 p.m. University Hall Room 157 / Savannah's Armstrong Atlantic State University Hispanic Outreach and Leadership Association. Both Jerry Gonzalez (GALEO) and two immigratin attorneys from Savannah will be part of the event. Trip to Lyons to meet the Director of SE Georgia Communities Project. Leave GSU 9:30 a.m., meet Director 10:30 a.m. Return GSU 1:00 p.m.
Thurs April 5	Book club roundtable 11:00 a.m. Newton 1106 Creative Nonfiction students will report on works of memoir and creative nonfiction dealing with personal accounts of the immigration experience. Come to add to your personal reading list, and if you have a favorite book on this topic, bring it to share! Public invited
Thurs April 19	Trip to Lyons Southeast Georgia Communities Project -- Education about Migrant farm workers. Trip includes a visit to the non-profit, discussion about illegal immigration, a visit to the onion fields to speak with migrant farm workers and to observe their labor, to visit a packaging warehouse, and a processing plant where many immigrants are employed. A Mexican lunch will be served in between.
