March 3-- Library Research
Show up with an idea to pursue for your long papers. We will spend the class session in the library researching your topic, discussing questions to ask of your topic and methods for conducting research. We will work in groups on this project... please be a bit early for class if you can so that we can assign groups quickly and use our time efficiently.
March 5-- We will be working in the library with your groups today.
Check in with me in the library, ground floor in the main research area. Let me know how your group is progressing with research, if you need my help, and how you plan to proceed for the day. After that, I will work with those groups that need my help. The rest of the groups may proceed to the most convenient workplace and get busy.
I would also like for you to take this opportunity to hook up with people that you might be able to collaborate on art projects with. Remember, I'm hoping for film....
I'm distributing handouts for the paper proposals on Friday-- be sure to pick one up. If you don't get the handout, go to http://www.csuohio.edu/english/frshcmp.html and follow the directions for the paper proposal-- I want the proposals the week we come back from Spring Break.
Also, if you do not have a computer at home or an alternative way to read Patchwork Girl, make arrangements with me to come by my office and read it off of my computer. We need to get on this... it will take you a good week or so to read and make sense of this text.
Spring Break is next week-- have a blast, but do not forget to read Sitt Marie Rose before you return; class discussion for this novel will begin hot and heavy on Monday, March 15th!!
March 15-19
We will be discussing Sitt Marie Rose all week and taking up paper issues. Your paper proposals are due this week.
On Wednesday, March 17th, we will meet at the UC, room 103, to hear the cast from Bring in Da Funk-- Come prepared with questions!!
