Today's film industry is a highly elaborate
network and a competitive one at that. With dozens of movie makers
(Universal, 20th Century Fox) and almost as many theater companies
(Carmike, Regal) it takes a mark of persuasion by professional writers
and film critics to heighten the popularity and demand for each of the
literally hundreds of movies that are released each week worldwide.
There's a great deal of responsibility in the business of convincing
the masses of a film's potential, ultimately leading to its prospects
for success in the box office. A major issue with reviews is that there
are many who are so willing to voice their thoughts of a movie, yet few
know how to do so both neutrally and effectively.
