Fellowships
The SCHC currently accepts unsolicited proposals for fellows projects on a rolling basis. Please contact the SCHC for guidelines. Fellows may be from the community or academia and make work individually or as a group. The SCHC currently recognizes the following types of fellows. A yearly application process will begin after the April 2006 Stakeholder Planning Meeting.
Fellow—People desiring affiliation with or sponsorship by the SCHC may propose a project (see examples of current sponsored projects) . Between 3 and 10 fellows are selected each year. Projects may be collaborative, and community/academic as well as regional/extra-regional. Partnerships with other organizations are particularly encouraged. As part of their tenure, fellows agree to meet together regularly (lunch or dinner once per month) to socialize and share info about their projects. They also must file a report at the end of their fellowship in order to become a consulting fellow. In return for the work on the project, they can use the SCHC for institutional affiliation (for purposes of fundraising) and can draw upon any resources that the SCHC has. Anyone (except current students) may apply to be a fellow, academic and non-academic. They will be selected by a committee of the consulting, senior and honorary fellows. Consulting fellows in particular should actively seek out and cultivate possible fellows.
